Peter Thompson
Centre Director
Year started working:
2000 (yep lol)
What do you love about your job:
Simply the opportunity to do life with people, may that be the amazing people of Ballysillan, your volunteers and fellow staff members. Going on a journey and adventure with people, all the highs and lows, and helping each person discover that they have so much value, worth and potential.
What you love about Ballysillan:
Quite simply the people – the craic and banter is off the scale!
Favourite activity to do in the centre:
Hmm, thats a tough one. If I had to pick one I would go for playing a wee game of pool!
Favourite item from tuck shop:
Oh deary me! Crisps – McCoys Thai Sweet Chicken. Sweets – Pugs n Mugs (fake percy pigs!)
Tell us about you and what you like to do outside of work (family, hobbies):
Married to the wonderful Sarahanne, and between us we have a wee blended family of seven (lol!) – Eve, Joel, Finn, Koen, Anna, Taleya & Charis! They are awesome! Outside of all things family I love sport – nearly anything bar horse racing! Love going to watch football with some local love towards both Carrick Rangers and Crusaders. Favourite sport to play – Badminton – if you know, you know. What a game! I love music and a live gig and also love a game of settlers of catan or monopoly deal (though this love has not filtered across the family!) Also have one cat – Bella (did have two but Leo cleared off) and as of 2024 a french bulldog called Dottie!
